Description

The front of this black Bikini Kill tee carries a stark black-and-white group photo of the band, with the "Bikini Kill" name set above it in a loose handwritten-style font. The photo gives the shirt that raw early-'90s feel that fits the band better than any polished studio portrait ever could. Bikini Kill formed in Olympia, Washington in 1990 and became one of the defining bands of the riot grrrl movement, pairing abrasive punk with feminist politics, DIY zines and confrontational live shows. This design keeps the focus where it belongs: the band itself, frozen in a gritty archival-style image. No back print is shown, so the front graphic does all the work.
