Description

The front puts Excel's razor-edged logo in radioactive green above a huge white horned skull. The skull's hollow eyes, long jagged teeth, and crossed bones take up most of the shirt, while a green line beneath the artwork reads 'EXCEL // THRASH METAL // THRASH METAL.' It's a loud, no-nonsense design with the sort of artwork that belongs on a battered skate deck as much as a shirt. Excel came out of the Venice, California crossover scene, where hardcore punk collided headfirst with thrash metal. Their 1987 debut Split Image and 1989 follow-up The Joke's on You helped put their name on the map. This print gives that skate-thrash attitude a proper front-and-center treatment without pretending to be subtle.
