About the band
Known for their aggressive and fast sound, they were one of the "Big Four" of thrash metal, alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. Slayer's music often explored dark themes such as death, violence, war, and religion, with brutal guitar riffs, rapid drumming, and ferocious vocals. Their 1986 album Reign in Blood is considered a genre-defining classic. Slayer's influence on metal is immense, and they are widely regarded as one of the most important and controversial bands in the genre. They disbanded in 2019 after a farewell tour.
